Calgary comes alive as the sun sets on the first day of the Stampede
As the golden hour lit up downtown Calgary, the energy around the Stampede Grounds surged. Day 1 wrapped up with crowds pouring into the midway, live music blasting from every corner, and food trucks serving up everything from deep-fried Oreos to smoked turkey legs.
Families gathered near the Coca-Cola Stage for free performances, while thrill-seekers lined up for night rides under the glowing Ferris wheel. The rodeo arena cooled off after a heated day of barrel racing and bull riding, but the party was just getting started.
In the evening light, we captured everything from cowboy hats silhouetted against the skyline to fireworks bursting over the Saddledome. The streets were filled with music, dance, and Calgary spirit.
